German import Waldpark is expected to have his first Australian race start in the 2013 Dato’ Tan Chin Nam Stakes next month.

The five-year-old has been acquired by trainer Anthony Freedman, who has high hopes for his Melbourne spring racing carnival campaign.

“He’s been with me about three weeks,” Freedman said.

“He’s a nice, neat and compact horse.

“He came to me in very good condition and he’s settled in well.”

Waldpark will then go on towards the $3 million Cox Plate at Moonee Valley on October 26, 2013.

The Dubawi entire placed second in the Group 2 Der Badischen Unternehmer in Germany in his most recent race start on May 12, 2013.

Waldpark will be looking to post his first race win since winning the Group 1 Deutsches Derby at Hamburg Racecourse more than two years ago.
